Why do we have a cut off date? The furniture industry is obligated to close for the December period based on the Furniture bargaining council info which falls under the labour act of South Africa. Our closing date for 2024 will be on the 13th of December 2024 and we will re-open on the 13th of January 2025. With the last orders being placed on the 30th of September 2024, it gives the Schönn team enough time to get all orders done in time before we close and to get all items to our customers before the end of the year.
Why do we have such long lead times? As a small company, we still rely heavily on smaller suppliers when it comes to glass, upholstery, powder coating and more. Our suppliers have their own lead times that we need to adhere to. These lead times enables us to have enough time to order the different materials needed to manufacture the items and it also leave provision for any damages that may occur during suppliers deliveries or items arriving not up to standard.
What is our lead times? Our lead times for items varies between 6 to 12 weeks. This varies due to the type of item and/ or if it is a customized requested item by the customer via email. If you are unsure about your items lead time, please email the team on info@schonn.co.za , via whatsapp on 066 301 0035 or search for your item and see the description of the item for the lead time.
Last order date? Our last order date for the year will be 30 September 2024. We will make special exceptions for order after the 30th of September 2024 based on the order value, items needed and based on our current work load. Please contact our team via email info@schonn.co.za or give us a call or whatsapp us on 066 301 0035 to discuss urgent orders needed. Please note, while a special exception can be made, we have a cut off date for a reason, and therefore we cannot guarantee that the items will definitely be made on time.

Can I still place orders after the cut off date? Yes you can! However, if no special exception or arrangements are made, please only expect your items to arrive in 2025. When ordering after the 30th of September 2024, please keep in mind that your lead times will have to include the 4 weeks that we are closed.

RETURN POLICY
Thank you for shopping with Schönn. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.
Schönn Returns & Refunds
The client has to check their items upon receiving them and inform is of any defects via email within 24 hours from the time that the parcel has been delivered to you. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your order will arrive with a checklist and a sticker on every individual product for shipping purposes. Please keep your original packaging, checklist and stickers should they be required for return purposes. If your item is not sufficiently packed, it will not be accepted regardless of the reason for its return.
Once Schönn has received your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the status of your refund after inspecting the item. If we approve your return, we will refund you via your original payment method. Depending on your bank’s policies, you will receive the credit within a certain amount of days.
You are responsible for organising the return of your item with a courier service of your choice. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you would like a recommendation for courier companies that you can use. You are also responsible for paying for your shipping costs for returning your item.
A 20% handling fee will be charged to you, the customer, for us to process your return. This handling fee covers all external costs such as packaging used in the initial order, bank fees and other charges. Please note that Schönn takes no responsibility if the items arrive back to us damaged due to the return courier trip.
A 10% handling fee will be charged to any refund to cover any bank charges and/or any additional costs that occurred during the initial transaction and/ or afterwards to refund the money back into the clients account.
Sale items cannot be returned, same applies for items bought with coupons or on discount.
Schönn products are made to order and custom-made especially for you; therefore, no exchanges or returns will be permitted unless the goods are defective. Schönn will NOT supply any installed equipment or tools with any of our products unless specified in the item’s description. These might include screws, nuts and spanners. However, due to the different variety of materials and the different types of structures in homes, Schönn will not take responsibility for any wrong installation or installation methods used by the client, making it impossible to use the item for what it is intended. Therefore, we highly recommend that a client communicates with the Schönn team first before assuming that a product can be used for a certain purpose on installation onto certain materials. These might include dry walls, glass or wood.
Schönn Damages
If an item is damaged upon delivery to you, it is ultimately the buyer’s responsibility to sort the issue out with the courier. Schönn makes use of third-party couriers, and as a result, can not be held responsible for damages that occur during transport. Our shipping and couriers are are an add-on service that we provide. Schönn cannot take responsibility for any unethical behaviour, delays, or damages that take place under the service of the third-party couriers. Essentially, the responsibility of your purchase transfers to the third-party couriers once the goods are collected.
Please note it is your responsibility to notify Schönn of any damages within 48hours of the delivery date via info@schonn.co.za. If a response is not received within two working days, we recommend that you send a follow-up email or call us at 066 301 0035.
The item will not be refundable if it is not sufficiently packaged for the return trip and arrives at Schönn in a damaged state. You will also be charged to have your damaged goods sent back to you. Schönn only replaces the broken part and not the product entirely.
Refunds are loaded on a specific date every month. This date is not set and is subject to change on a monthly basis to avoid unnecessary bank charges.
Schönn Non-Returnables
Custom made items are not eligible for return or refund. Additionally, if you have requested any specific changes to an existing listed item on our website, that item will not be suitable for return.
Schönn makes each order by hand to suit your preference and style. For this reason, Schönn does not accept returns or offer refunds if you change your mind or make the wrong decision regarding size or colour.
Schönn International Shipment Policy
Schönn will not be held responsible for any damages that occur from your third party shipping company for any deliveries beyond the South African border. All items must be checked before transporting further by your third-party courier. Schönn will not be held responsible if the items get damaged through the third party couriers.

- Schönn’s practices, colours and typographical errors

4.3 All products are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee that the items will be in stock. We reserve the right to discontinue any products for any reason. Prices for all products are subject to change.

4.6Because all Schönn products are handmade, products may vary slightly in shape, size, colour, finish compared to the images listed on the website. All products are handmade, one piece at a time. No two pieces will ever be the same due to the handmade nature of our products. Any irregularities in our product should not be considered flaws.

The Site as a whole, including any text, graphics, trademarks or any other intellectual property, are protected by copyright laws and are prohibited from your use.
- Schönn’s ordering process
By accessing or using SCHONN websites or services, or the mobile versions of either, (collectively the “Website”) you signify that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms of Use” or “Agreement”) which indicates that it is the client’s responsibility to double check their order before proceeding to the checkout and the options that they have chosen to make sure that they are 100% satisfied with their choices and that they know what to expect. It is the client’s responsibility to read the terms and conditions any by placing an order it shall be considered your acceptance to the terms and conditions and policies.
You also agree to reach out to the SCHONN team before you proceed with your order if you are uncertain about any colour, size or any other information regarding our items. Your continued use of the Website shall be considered your acceptance to the revised Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please do not use this Website.
- Schönn’s communication
By accessing or using SCHONN websites or services, or the mobile versions of either, (collectively the “Website”) you signify that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms of Use” or “Agreement”) that SCHONN does not accept any informal way of communication such as Instagram messages, Facebook messages, whatsapp messages, SMS’s or any other informal communication platform, except email. When any questions are asked, changes need to be made of an order, an email needs to be sent as soon as possible. Your continued use of the Website shall be considered your acceptance that SCHONN takes two to three working days to respond to a mail. You also accept that after placing an order, you will not receive communication on the process of your order on a regular basis, due to the fact that all the lead time information is available on your account.
- Schönn’s registration
Entering your information into the registration field does not automatically opt for delivery option at the checkout. It simply enables you to access your information effortlessly when wanting to use the site and its services again. You still need to manually choose the delivery option at the checkout.
It is not the responsibility of SCHONN if the client forgets their login details to access their account in need of information. SCHONN will assist a client within 2 to 3 working days after a notification was sent to SCHONN via email only. No other way of communication is viable.
- Schönn’s product availability
It is essential to understand that every order is made per order. Therefore, no items can be out of stock because every piece is made individually for you as you place your orders. However, Schönn has the right to remove any product we feel the need to. If an issue occurs with the manufacturing of the item and we will not be able to provide you with your order, you agree to first find an alternative on Schönn’s website before we consider a refund. SCHONN will not be bound to offer alternatives to a greater value than the item originally chosen, and a difference may be required to be paid.
- Schönn’s shipping terms
10.1 By accessing or using SCHONN courier services, or the mobile versions of either, (collectively the “Website”) you signify that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms of Use” or “Agreement”) that indicates the following:
10.2 The courier service is an additional service that SCHONN provides on a client’s behalf to add to a more convenient shopping experience. In no way is any damages that occurs during the transportation a reflection on SCHONN as a company. The client agrees and acknowledges to the following terms and conditions in relation to shipping:
- Shipping will take place after the 6 weeks manufacturing process. Parcels are only collected on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Days may change due to public holidays and circumstances out of our control.
- The courier company will send an email and sms to notify the client of the pick up of the item with the waybill nr that the client can use in order to track it.
- The client agrees that they respect the fact that them choosing to make use of the courier service, and that SCHONN makes use of 3rd party service providers, can cause situations out of SCHONN’s control and puts limitations to what SCCHONN is capable in doing and is in no way a refection on SCHONN as a company if a parcel gets damaged during the transportation process.
- The client accepts that the courier services in SA does not offer a wrapping service and even if the item has a defect or is the incorrect order, they are still in charge of wrapping the item securely to ensure that it arrives safely back to SCHONN.
- No parcel will be accepted by the client without checking for any damages or defects on the wrapping itself to confirm that the packaging has no evident damages on its outer appearance
- If these is any visible damage to the packaging, this needs to be recorder on the waybill and be sent back with the couriers and note that it was damaged during transportation
- If there are no defects when receiving the package, please keep in mind that other defects can occur during transportation such as glass getting chipped or cracked, frames being bent.
- The client agrees to unwrap the item carefully and in such a way that they can re-use the packaging if the item has a defect in order to wrap it again when they need to send it back with the couriers. There is a clear sticker on each parcel to indicate that the client needs to unwrap the items carefully and re-use the same wrapping to send the item back.
- During the unwrapping process, please keep an eye out for the checklist that comes with the order. This is a way that SCHONN can keep our staff accountable for not following the correct processes when they send items.
- All accessories will be on the outside packaging. It is marked very visible. We do not provide any screws.
10.3 Schönn takes no responsibility for an incorrect shipment when the wrong delivery address has been provided. The same applies when a client cannot be reached during two delivery attempts.
10.4 All shipment costs are calculated according to the delivery area and will vary according to the location and dimensional weight of the desired product. Please note that Schönn does not take any responsibility for delivering products that might be higher than the ground floor. It is the responsibility of the buyer to make any additional arrangements. These include elevators, staircases etc. All third party delivery services used by Schönn to deliver your products only provide standard delivery service to the ground floor. Schönn will not be held responsible for any damages that may occur to the item after its delivery.
10.5 All international shipments need to be re-arranged with Schönn by contacting us via email: info@schonn.co.za.
- Schönn’s Competitions
Schönn’s social media competitions, sponsorships or giveaways are in no way endorsed or sponsored by Instagram. All winners and entrants need to comply with the following terms:
entrants and winner must be over the age of 18 years old
entrants and winner must reside in South Africa
entrants and winner must continue following @schonn.co.za after the competition ends
entrants and winner must have a legitimate instagram profile, ensued by more than 50 followers and/or a public profile where the page can be reviewed.
all profiles ensuing less than 50 followers will be deemed illegitimate as per instagram and fake.
Schönn’s terms of use, privacy policy and shipping terms apply to all competitions and giveaways.
- Schönn discounts
No discounts, specials or sale prices can be used in conjunction with one another. No discounts will apply to any order if the size of the items is customized.
- Schönn ordering items on sale
No items purchased on sale or a discount is refundable.
Applicant agrees to the terms and conditions as found on the online store under Schönn policies.
All custom items will have a 8 week lead time, no matter how insignificant the changes. Schönn uses a 3rd party to draw up technical drawings in order for our workshop to manufacture the design.
No custom item is returnable or refundable. it also cannot be swopped out for a store credit of any sort. Same applies to swopping or returning a standard item for a custom item.
No discount will be given on custom designs, no matter how insignificant the changes are.
Any custom designs may take up to 12 weeks to complete if there are any complications found within the developing stages of the items at any time. The client hereby agrees that they accept this lead time. Schönn will still try their very best to have all manufacturing completed as soon as possible.
Under no circumstance will Schönn allow a shorter manufacturing lead time than what is displayed on the online store. The client herby agrees, accepts and respects that Schönn makes use of other suppliers and that they also have lead times that Schönn needs to adhere to. Delivery takes place 2 to 3 working days after the manufacturing lead time.
Once the final draft of the custom design has been approved by the client, the client has5 working days to make any last changes. after that, no changes will be allowed.
The client agrees, accept and respects that Schönn may change their prices without prior notice of any sort and that we may discard the quotes if the values differ. This may cause quotes to be no longer valid after a certain period of time.
